BRG Capstone’s Valuation Services Group provides valuation services in support of fairness and solvency opinions, alternative investments portfolio valuation, GP manager valuations, corporate financial reporting and strategic valuations. Our clients are leading hedge funds, private equity funds, lenders, corporations and attorneys.

  

The Senior Associate position is a consulting staff position. Candidates will have strong financial technical competencies, the ability to team with a variety of industry specialists, and an interest in growing one’s own leadership capabilities. The individual will work with experienced senior professionals focused on providing opinions of value to our clients for a variety of purposes including transaction support (including fairness and solvency opinions), GP/LP Investment reporting, portfolio valuation, expert testimony, financial reporting, and helping to restructure and manage PE and Hedge funds as part of our Private Funds management business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Technical:
    • Research and prepare company, industry and economic analyses.
    • Analyze and vet financial statements and prospective financial information
    • Develop financial models and organize large data sets in Microsoft Excel. With ability to develop three-statement financial models with debt sweeps and similar dynamic features.
    • Command of financial software such as Capital IQ and Bloomberg
    • A solid understanding of GAAP valuation reporting requirements
    • An understanding of debt structures
  • Quality
    • Meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
    • Maintain productivity while managing competing client priorities
    • Maintain an organized, methodical and professional demeanor
  • Communication:
    • Demonstrate strong report writing skills.- producing quality work products in Powerpoint presentation format as well as long report format in Microsoft Word.
    • Utilize strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate project status and results to your clients
  • Teamwork and Leadership
    • Participate in a team environment and collaborate to share responsibilities towards attainment of team goals.
    • Actively seek out opportunities for practice development projects and personal leadership skill development.
  • Business and Personal Development
    • Take an active role in business development activities: meeting clients, presentations, market analysis and strategic planning
    • Be preparing for or be currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst Program or other widely recognized accreditation program with a focus on business valuation

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or other related field of study
  • 1.0 to 2.5 years prior valuation work experience is required preferably with an accounting or national valuation firm
  • Experience in being a key team member and/or leading the completion of business valuations, or similar financial deliverables is preferred.

 

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
