Overview

This position will be based out of our Washington, DC office.

BRG’s Corporate Compliance and Risk Management group (“CCRM”), situated within BRG’s industry-leading Healthcare Analytics Practice, provides complex compliance advisory, investigation and enforcement decree support services together  with expert witness testimony to pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, diagnostics, genomics, laboratory and DME companies, as well as hospitals and other healthcare entities and law firms. BRG’s CCRM experts have extensive business and process expertise which they channel to advise companies on the development, implementation, oversight and strategic management of effective corporate compliance and risk management programs. Our professionals have firsthand experience in C-suite corporate compliance, government enforcement, and advanced transactional data analysis; therefore, they have an intimate understanding of the operational, technical, and legal challenges that companies must address. BRG’s unique qualifications position CCRM as a market leader, availing the team the privilege of working on some of the industry’s most complex, high profile matters.

 

The Consultant position is a mid-level consulting staff position, which is integral to the CCRM team’s success.  This position requires a highly motivated critical thinker and with a developing body of subject matter expertise who can manage staff members, manage projects, and substantially contribute to client-facing work product. This position also requires an advanced degree, notable work experience, and a desire to develop subject matter mastery as they advance within the organization.

 

Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed research for expert reports and compliance advisory work product.
  • Assist with preparing and writing expert reports.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant tools and software.
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality.
  • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities necessary to manage projects, manage work streams, and contribute to client meetings.
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed. Travel requirement varies and may be extensive from time to time.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree and a certification in compliance or an advanced degree in law, policy, healthcare administration or related field are preferred or a certification in compliance. Candidates with a JD will be given highest consideration.
  • 5-7+ years of prior work experience in positions of progressive responsibility within the compliance or legal profession.  
  • Experience working in or directly supporting highly regulated industry required.
  • Experience in the life sciences or healthcare industries, or directly supporting life sciences or healthcare industries through a law or consulting firm strongly preferred.
  • Extensive research capabilities and ability to draft expert reports and legal briefs is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to compliance and risk management, including guidance documents and enforcement history affecting the life sciences and/or healthcare industries strongly preferred.
