The Washington, DC office is seeking a Case Assistant for the Capital Markets Practice. The Case Assistant will be responsible for administrative needs, as well as assist with casework and reports as needed.  Please note this is a part-time position, requiring approximately 20 hours per week.



  • Run time sensitive conflict checks for potential casework
  • Make travel and guest arrangements
  • File team expense reimbursement forms into the accounting system for processing
  • Enter time for various members (as needed) at the end of each month; email reminders
  • Review invoices for grammar and formatting errors
  • Maintain and update database of contacts in Microsoft Access for marketing purposes
  • Prepare and organize binders with tabs and table of contents
  • Other administrative tasks include scanning documents, faxing, emailing on behalf of the directors, and FedEx mail delivery

Business Development

  • Maintain and update the project pipeline database based on team and client emails, conflict checks, and other relevant sources
  • Create and run ad-hoc revenue, cost and utilization reports as requested
  • Set up and follow Google and other alerts for various financial industry trends, clients and potential clients based on team feedback and current events
  • Assist with presentations, marketing materials, and CVs

Case Assistance

  • Format reports and presentations to consistent styling based on template; update and revise drafts as needed; finalize (pdf and add attachments) and send reports to clients
  • Manage tracked changes in Microsoft Word from multiple users and compare/combine different versions of Microsoft Word documents
  • Review all footnotes in the reports for accuracy, proper formatting, and clarity
  • Upload files received from client to shared case folder and organize for experts to review in a timely fashion
  • Organize and analyze case-related information based on team needs; create indexes and databases to organize files; review documents for specific content
  • Transcribe case interviews for content and maintain proper transcription format
  • Understand and utilize various research tools to find case-related information, including Bloomberg terminal, SEC online database (and other relevant financial industry and government databases), and search engines (Google, Yahoo Finance, etc.)
  • Conduct ad-hoc research and provide concise, accurate summaries of findings as requested
  • Review and summarize deposition transcripts; provide key findings for use by various experts


  • Progression towards a Bachelor’s degree in the areas of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, or other practice related subjects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Time management skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Experience with travel logistics and planning is preferred
  • Research skills a plus; knowledge of financial institutions and/or litigation proceedings a plus.
