The Systems Engineer will design, implement, manage, maintain and optimize our Cisco UCS, VMware, Microsoft Server and SAN systems.  This position will also work closely with our infrastructure & security team to monitor our environment and to ensure proper security and high availability of our systems.

 

This position can be located in Emeryville, CA, Washington, DC, or Chicago, IL

 

Responsibilities

  • Understanding of Cisco UCS systems: deployment and management.
  • Configure, manage and maintain Nimble & Synology storage systems with experience in configuration, performance tuning, snapshots and data restoration.
  • Implementing and day-to-day management of a VMware virtualized environment containing vCenter, vSphere, and Horizon VDI.

Qualifications

  • Experience with support and administration of environments with high-availability (VMware) and replication (SAN).
  • Managed VMware’s technologies Horizon View, vSphere and vCenter.
  • Experience of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience of TCP/IP networking and MPLS WAN environments.
  • Experience with scripting or Powershell with an emphasis on process/task automation.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and time management skills.
  • Excellent researching skills and problem solving skills.
  • Certifications from VMware, Cisco & Microsoft are a plus.
  • Position requires traveling for short periods. Trips will sometimes extend to 5 working days and could on rare occasions extend beyond 5 business days. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.
