The Consultant - Restructuring position is a mid-level consulting staff position.  This position will provide business and financial support in the delivery of financial restructuring, valuation, and advisory services.  The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a team environment on a diverse range of assignments relating to turnaround, restructuring, valuation analysis, and financial performance assessments. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.  

Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial models, pro-forma financial statements, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Analysis of cash flows and preparation of 13-week cash flow forecast models.
  • Analyze business plans and key operational performance drivers of a business.
  • Prepare valuation analyses under both “going concern” and “liquidation” scenarios.
  • Develop spreadsheet models used to analyze complex financing transactions.
  • Analyze economic and industry trends and data to develop recommendations.
  • Read and analyze legal documents and discuss issues with deal constituents in order to develop an understanding of a given transaction.
  • Must have the ability to multitask different aspects of a project while adhering the applicable deadlines.
  • Interact with client’s personnel at all levels of a business.
  • Must have the flexibility and willingness to travel ranging from 0-100%.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree (business major) and/or MBA.  CPA is required. CFA is a plus.
  • 3 to 6 years prior work experience, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment involving financial analysis, mergers and acquisitions, auditing or accounting services.
  • Experience in public accounting or a public/private industry blend is a plus.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer skills, including Excel, word processing, PowerPoint, and internet research is required.
