BRG is a rapidly growing, multiple hundred-million revenue organization with over 1,100 employees in 24 U.S. cities and 13 countries.    This is a superb opportunity for a motivated individual with energy, creativity and appropriate experience to lead the build out of BRG’s treasury and related functions, expand this role in parallel with BRG’s growth, with the opportunity to assume the currently unfilled position of Treasurer in the intermediate term.

 

The Senior Manager will be responsible for supporting all aspects of BRG’s cash revenue cycle and cash management, with a particular focus on working capital management, accounts receivable, bank relationships and liquidity management.   In addition to direct responsibilities for accounts receivable and bank relationships, the Senior Manager will champion and support process improvement to improve both speed and controls throughout the cash revenue cycle.   The broad mandate of this position will require an individual interested in and capable of both (a) mastering the larger context of BRG’s business and client transaction model and (b) leading initiatives and process improvements to enhance all aspects of BRG’s cash revenue cycle.

While this position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer with significant regular interaction with the Chief Financial Officer, it is nonetheless a hands on role with direct responsibilities for creating models and preparing reports, particularly associated with bank reporting and with capital management.

 

The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to accuracy, rigorous controlled processes, customer service, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities

Bank Relationships

  • Maintain, in coordination with the Chief Accounting Officer and the CFO, day-to-day relationships with BRG principal relationship bank and other secondary bank relationships
  • Set up and manage additional corporate bank accounts and bank relationships, particularly in foreign locations
  • Support the controllers function in ongoing bank account reconciliations and similar activities
  • Support integration of BRG processes with bank systems, AR and AP portals and other transaction-oriented third-party systems
  • Manage Letter of Credit requests and related activities

 

Liquidity Management & Planning

  • Execute key functions of BRG’s global cash & liquidity forecasting, which includes production and management of working capital metrics associated with the firm’s global expert services business model, such as metrics on engagement pricing and terms, work in progress, accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial and operational plans to support BRG’s current and future working capital and liquidity needs.   Must be comfortable creating financial models and other specialized analyses required for this role
  • Maintain close coordination and facilitate communications with key company stakeholders (leadership team, experts, non-U.S based staff, accounting, tax, legal, accounts payables, payroll) to enhance liquidity and cash flow
  • Lead or participate in initiatives to enhance cash flow and increase the speed and efficiency of all processes feeding into client billing and receivables
  • Engage in internal and external discussions with experts, banks, industry peers and others regarding required activities to implement best in class liquidity and working capital planning and management tools and practices

 

Accounts Receivable

  • Oversee the management of the Accounts Receivable (AR) function and promote the effectiveness of this team by driving greater integration of AR goals and activities into other BRG finance, business and expert management and compensation processes

 

Cash Investments

  • Manage investment of BRG’s excess liquidity
  • Support BRG retirement plans in consideration of investment alternatives

 

Foreign Exchange Risk Management

  • Assess current and ongoing FX exposures and execute appropriate FX management activities if needed

 

Compliance & Other Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with bank and other credit-related agreements plus internal controls related to liquidity, capital and cash management
  • In conjunction with the controller function, prepare and transmit all required bank and related reports and compliance certificates
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate efficiencies into daily treasury and related operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in finance, accounting, economics or related field
  • MBA, CFA or comparable credential strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of relevant experience (treasury, banking, working capital management in service industries) plus 7 to 10 or more years of overall business experience.  Experience in a treasury function of a comparable or larger organization highly recommended
  • Experience with professional services businesses preferred but not essential
  • Proficiency in modelling and reporting using Microsoft Excel or other more advanced analysis tools
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems, particularly those associated with treasury management, cash management or payments transactions functions required
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and tasks at one time and meeting competing deadlines
  • Possess a passion for (and ability to) continuously improve and accelerate processes while maintaining rigorous standards of financial control
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced business environment and interact with a sophisticated internal client base of professional experts with significant financial expertise
  • Attention to detail
