The IT Specialist is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related operational needs.


The IT Specialist position is a critical role within the organization. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with above average customer service skills. The right candidate will work diligently to maintain the IT infrastructure for BRG’s Emeryville, West Coast and firm-wide offices as well as provide ongoing support to customers.


This position requires both skill sets as well as great customer service as this position will be in our Emeryville office which is our headquarters.


  • Heavy emphasis on video conferencing support and knowledge of Video Conferencing systems. Cisco knowledge preferred. 
  • Respond to user requests for assistance related to all deployed hardware and software.
  • Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot laptops and desktops, both remotely and onsite.
  • Troubleshoot all mobile equipment, iPads, iPhones and Android phones.
  • Help customers with questions regarding usage of industry standard Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) applications.
  • Manage Active Directory, including creating and modifying user settings.
  • Work as part of a team, sharing duties with other IT personnel throughout the company.
  • Develop skills and expertise with new technology, software and hardware in a dynamic environment.
  • Enter tickets into Cherwell.
  • Image laptops/desktops as needed.
  • Special projects as assigned.


  • 3-5 years of IT experience, working in a similar capacity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have a positive, professional attitude.
  • Strong knowledge of technology, hardware and software in a professional services environment (e.g., extensive knowledge of Windows 10 and Office 2016).
  • Position is based in Emeryville, but IT personnel are required to support users in other BRG locations, including employees and independent contractors working remotely.
  • IT personnel may be required to travel for short periods. Trips will sometimes extend to 5 working days and could on rare occasions extend beyond 5 business days. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.
  • On-call and overtime will be required with this position
  • Core Support hours for all BRG offices are from 8:00am-7:00pm. This shift will be between those hours.
