    BRG seeks a full-time, experienced Accounting Manager for its Emeryville office to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Assistant Controller and responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting Firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department:
      • Month, quarter and year-end process
      • Accounts payable/receivable
      • General ledger
        • Review journal entries and monthly account reconciliations
      • Equity
        • Review and manage stock issuances, repurchases, put options, and other related activities 
      • Cash Flow
        • Manage and review cash funding, cash report and cash flow for all entities
      • Revenue and expenditure trending and variance analysis
      • Balance sheet trending and variance analysis
    • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
    • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits for consolidations and foreign entities
    • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
    • Meet financials accounting objectives
    • Establish and maintain files and records to document transactions
    • Oversee 1099 process at year-end
    • Assist with the compilation of annual budgets
    • Manage special/ ad-hoc projects
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 
    • Public accounting experience and strong US GAAP knowledge
    • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager
    • International accounting and consolidations and familiarity with IFRS preferred
    • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases
    • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
    • Exceptional organizational skills, follow-up skills and attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to direct and supervise
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
    • Committed to quality customer service (internal and external)
    • Consistent attendance and reliability
