    The Managing Consultant demonstrates an understanding of technical and management aspects of engagement requirements in their primary areas of expertise as well as a thorough understanding of the business and financial principles of one or more industries, or other technical service offerings such as advanced econometrics or financial analyses.

    Responsibilities

    • Analyze and ensure proper health care reimbursements for target accounts. 
    • Review Emergency Department, Observation, Ancillary Department Charging and Coding policies and procedures. 
    • Coordinate between administrative and clinical operations staff to ensure that accounts have the correct coding, billing, payment and charge captures. 
    • Instruct Clients how to maintain the integrity of facility Charge Description Master (CDM). 
    • Using a working knowledge of reimbursement regulations for Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care, perform proper revenue and reimbursement capture 
    • Actively manage staff and demonstrate consistent, balanced project delegation, supervision and leadership skills across all areas of an engagement. 
    • Coordinate and actively participate in developing solutions and creating client deliverables, including the drafting of complex sections of deliverables. 

    Qualifications

    • Highly analytical, detailed and independent.
    • Solid understanding of all aspects of the revenue cycle, including:
           o Patient Access (Insurance verification, scheduling, etc)
           o Billing and Collections operations
           o Cash Acceleration
           o Point of Service Collections
           o Effective management of bad debts and denial write-offs

    • Ability to effectively oversee areas requiring specialized subject matter experts (e.g., Charge Capture, Managed Care contracting, CDI, Strategic Pricing) and understand these areas’ inter-relationships with other areas of revenue cycle
    • Effectively able to manage multiple engagements at a time
    • Analytical skill strong enough to support junior staff
    • Typical candidates will have a bachelor’s degree related to health care or information technology. Revenue Integrity Professional Certification from AAHAM is a plus. 
    • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain collaborative, value-added relationships with client executives
    • 10+ years of work experience with a focus on data analytics.
