The Managing Consultant position is a mid-level consulting staff position with a career track to expert level. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with solid analytical ability, strong organizational skills, and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of a Managing Consultant will involve both execution and oversight of engagement work streams that may be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and responsibilities include: management of junior staff, design of statistical and financial analysis, modeling of health care data and markets, quality control, development and presentation of client deliverables, management of existing client relationships, industry research, and expansion of business.
Additionally, this position requires a credentialed coder with strong inpatient expertise and a solid understanding of ICD-10-PCS with the ability to navigate gray areas of coding and apply his or her knowledge to arrive at supportable conclusions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required as this position will be interacting with C-suite and other high-level clients. The ideal candidate will also be certified in healthcare compliance through HCCA or AAPC. The Managing Consultant position can be based out of any of our US offices.

Perform coding audits and analysis of results including potential risk and overpayment forecasts.
Plan and manage all aspects of small to medium sized client engagements and discrete segments of larger projects.
Prepare client presentations and travel to client locations to conduct onsite meetings and working sessions when necessary
Delegate assignments to staff, instruct and monitor progress, and review work product for completeness and accuracy.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (e.g., BA, BS, BBA, MBA, MHA, etc.) with a focus in business analytics (accounting, finance, economics, information systems, mathematics) or equivalent experience.
5+ years of work experience with a focus on healthcare coding and compliance. .
Experience providing consulting services and/or strategic advice to hospitals, clinics, or physician practices or other healthcare companies facing litigation, disputes, investigations, and regulatory change.
Proven capability with MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs. A desire to expand those capabilities is required, as is the ability to train others to use such tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desire and ability to manage processes and other consultants and work in a team environment.
Commitment to producing high quality analysis and attention to details.
