    BRG’s Global Construction practice offers professional experience and competence in fact-finding, data analytics, claims/dispute analysis and management, and litigation support; along with technical expertise in engineering, architecture, construction management, public contracting, specifications and technical document development, schedule development and analysis, cost analysis, negotiations, and expert witness testimony. Our experts are experienced in litigation and domestic and international arbitration, and include professional engineers, project management professionals, registered architects, AACE Certified Planning and Scheduling Professionals, Certified Public Accountants, Certified Fraud Examiners, forensic accountants, and industry leaders.

     

    We are looking for an Associate to join the Global Construction Practice in our Toronto office.  The Associate position is an entry-level consulting staff position. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of an Associate can be either qualitative or quantitative in nature, and projects range from industry and subject-matter research to data collection to the preparation of statistical, financial, and other forms of analysis. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by project needs.
    • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review, and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public, and commercial databases).
    • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions.
    • Assemble project data into spreadsheets and databases for analytical use.Assist senior staff with the development of time, schedule and cost analysis.
    • Assist with preparation of expert reports including typing, editing and proofreading.
    • Prepare report exhibits and graphics to support analysis.
    • Assist with the preparation of presentations for mediation, arbitration, trial and/or industry seminars and marketing events.
    • Prioritize assignments and responsibilities in order to meet goals and deadlines.
    • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed.
    • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality.
    • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.

    Qualifications

    • A degree with a focus in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or other related subjects or equivalent experience.
    • 1 to 2 years of prior work experience in Construction related areas such as: Scheduling, Accounting, Estimating, Procurement, Project Management, Architectural or Engineering Building Design preferred.
    • Professional Licensure is not required, but beneficial (Professional Architect, Engineer, Accountant or General Contractor).
    • Proven capability with Primavera scheduling is desired. Proven capability with MS Office Software with a strong emphasis on Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and/or other analytical software (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, MS Project, AutoCad, Microstation,) is beneficial.  A desire to expand those capabilities is required.

    • Desire to work within a team environment.
