    BRG’s Corporate Compliance and Risk Management group (“CCRM”), situated within BRG’s industry-leading Healthcare Analytics Practice, provides complex compliance advisory, investigation and enforcement decree support services together with expert witness testimony to pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, diagnostics, genomics, laboratory and DME companies, as well as hospitals and other healthcare entities and law firms.

    BRG’s CCRM experts have extensive industry and compliance process expertise which they channel to advise companies on the development, implementation, oversight and strategic management of effective corporate compliance and risk management programs. Our professionals have firsthand experience in C-suite corporate compliance, government enforcement, and advanced transactional data analysis; therefore, they have an intimate understanding of the operational, technical, and legal challenges that companies must address.     The Managing Consultant position is a consulting staff position, which is integral to the CCRM team’s success.  This position requires a highly motivated critical thinker and with maturing subject matter expertise. The Managing Consultant has strong working knowledge of corporate governance and compliance principles as well as exposure to operational models that adhere to same. The incumbent will perform extensive research; analyze large volumes of complex materials and convey insights through project materials; manage multiple work streams across multiple projects; contribute significant research and writing to expert witness reports; manage staff, and meaningfully contribute to client-facing advisory work product.

    Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Perform detailed research for expert reports and compliance advisory work product.
    • Provide significant assistance with preparing and writing expert reports.
    • Assist with compliance program assessments and other key advisory projects in support of client compliance program development or enhancement.
    • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant tools and software.
    • Develop and maintain practice group management tools.
    • Review own work product and work product of others to assure quality.
    • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet deadlines and quality standards.
    • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrate keen attention to detail.
    • Demonstrate leadership abilities necessary to manage work streams and contribute to client deliverables.
    • Support practice group business development initiatives.
    • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed. Travel requirement varies and may be extensive from time to time.

     

    Qualifications

    Education

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline. A certification in compliance or a paralegal certificate preferred.
    • An advanced degree in law, policy, healthcare administration or related field are strongly preferred.

    Experience

    • 5 to 7 years of prior work experience in positions of progressive responsibility within the compliance, legal, policy, or advisory consulting profession.  
    • Extensive research capabilities required.
    • Experience working directly within or supporting highly regulated industry preferred.
    • Experience working directly within the life sciences or healthcare industries, or directly supporting life sciences or healthcare industries through a law or consulting firm strongly preferred.
    • Ability to draft expert reports and legal briefs is strongly preferred.
    • Familiarity with applicable laws, regulations and industry standards related to corporate governance, compliance and risk management, including guidance documents and enforcement history affecting the life sciences and/or healthcare industries strongly preferred.
