    The position is in the Corporate Finance - CFO Solutions practice, which provides financial and operational advisory services to companies across the corporate lifecycle. The ideal candidate should be prepared to work in a team environment on a diverse range of assignments. BRG is interested in individuals with a strong financial background with consulting experience in the CFO space, preferably in New York or Boston.


    We are seeking qualified individuals to join the CFO Solutions team (; skills should include experience in:

    • Finance and accounting process improvement
    • Financial planning and analysis
    • P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow optimization
    • Transaction preparation and execution
    • Business performance management and transformation
    • Finance target operating model and business partnership
    • Finance organizational structure alignment
    • Technology acumen relative to Finance application environment

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the day-to-day activities of BRG Corporate Finance client service teams executing on business improvement initiatives
    • Utilize business, finance, accounting, and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to: financial modeling and analysis, finance and operational process optimization, data management, analytics and visualization, business plan assessments, financial technology enablement, transaction support, and finance transformation
    • Improve decision-making, enable business partnering and drive shareholder value
    • Collaborate with BRG colleagues, client personnel, professionals from other firms, and other stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives
    • Develop content and/or oversee the creation of content for, and lead the preparation, of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
    • Participate in business development, marketing, recruiting, and practice development activities
    • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality and integrity


    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
    • MBA and / or CPA background preferred but not mandatory
    • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), including constructing and understanding 3-statement financial models, cash flows and scenario analyses
    • Strong knowledge of basic corporate financial and operational processes, including budgeting and forecasting, accounting close, treasury, order-to-cash and procure-to-pay
    • Superior written and oral communication skills
    • General knowledge of financial ERP (e.g. Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, NetSuite), EPM (e.g. Hyperion, Cognos), BI technologies (e.g. Tableau, Microsoft BI) and other finance and corporate performance management tools (e.g. Host Analytics, Blackline)
    • Ability to manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
    • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations, and move those into an effective presentation
    • Desire and ability to manage processes and other staff
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management and other stakeholders or professionals
    • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
    • Willingness to travel up to 90%
    • Years of prior work experience, ideally in a consulting or professional services environment

    Preferred Skills

    • Strong data analysis and problem solving abilities
    • Expert in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to work well independently or in a team dynamic
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands and learn quickly
    • Experience with transactions is a plus
    • A Master’s degree, MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus
    • Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent), or technical/GAAP accounting expertise, is a plus
    • Certifications in FP&A, CTP, PMP, Six Sigma or related areas is a plus
    • Basic understanding of SQL, Python, VBA or other coding languages is a plus
    • Basic understanding of Tableau or other data visualization tools is a plus
    • Advanced knowledge of financial management systems and tools is a plus
