    The position is in the Corporate Finance-Performance Improvement practice, which provides strategic, operational and financial advisory services to high-performing growth oriented as well as distressed companies. The ideal candidate should excel working in a team environment, on a diverse range of fast-moving assignments, and in an entrepreneurial environment.  BRG is currently seeking for individuals for its New York, Boston or Los Angeles offices.

    Responsibilities

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Align with client on project approach, deliverables and day-to-day interaction
    • Manage BRG project teams, inclusive of junior staff members’ knowledge development and career growth
    • Contribute to the day-to-day activities of BRG Corporate Finance-Performance Improvement client service teams executing on business improvement initiatives
    • Utilize business, finance, accounting, strategy and analytical skills to perform tasks including, but not limited to: business plan assessments; financial modeling and analysis; business strategy, revenue growth and margin enhancement; marketing management; organizational structure and SG&A management; operational process optimization; merchandise planning and allocation (MP&A); inventory management; pricing optimization; store labor planning and analysis; etc.
    • Improve speed in decision-making, enable business partnering and drive shareholder value
    • Collaborate with BRG colleagues, client personnel, professionals from other firms, and other stakeholders to achieve engagement objectives
    • Develop content and/or oversee the creation of content for, and lead the preparation, of high quality, refined reports, written analyses, presentations, and other client deliverables
    • Demonstrate the highest degree of professionalism, ethics, quality and integrity
    • Drive and extend client relationships

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or degree equivalent in Business, Accounting/Finance, Management, Engineering, Economics, Retail Management, Supply Chain, or related field
    • 8-10 years of consulting and line management experience in an operational role
    • Participate in the development of a fast-growing, entrepreneurial consulting practice including assisting in marketing, recruiting, training, client pitches and product and practice development
    • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis (particularly in Excel), understanding elements of P&L and balance sheet and scenario analyses
    • Strong knowledge of basic corporate financial and operational processes, including budgeting and forecasting 
    • Superior written and oral communication skills
    • General knowledge of BI technologies (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, noSQL), merchandise and planning software/databases, and other finance and corporate performance management tools (e.g. Host Analytics, Blackline)
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to direct and/or manage and analyze large volumes of financial and operational data
    • Ability to interpret the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis and develop insights and recommendations, and move those into an effective presentation
    • Manage and oversee junior staff
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to interact with junior and senior team members, senior management and other stakeholders or professionals
    • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly
    • Participate in recruiting activities
    • Willingness to travel up to 80%

     

    Preferred Skills

    • Ability to work well independently and in a team dynamic
    • Participate in marketing, practice development, research and white papers
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize changing work demands, and learn quickly
    • Basic understanding of Tableau or other data visualization tools is a plus
    • A Master’s degree, MBA is a plus
