    Managing Consultants demonstrate a thorough understanding of all technical and management aspects of client service. Managing Consultants are capable of planning, budgeting, executing and delivering discreet complex technical segments of large projects or all aspects of small or medium sized client assignments.  This includes the delegation and monitoring of tasks performed by other team members and critically auditing all work performed under their supervision.


    Managing Consultants frequently assist in developing solutions, creating large portions of client deliverables under supervision, and are expected to provide meaningful intellectual contributions to the engagement.  They may be a regular point of contact for the client on an engagement. 


    Managing Consultants have developed a thorough understanding of the standards and procedures that are required in delivering client work product in their primary areas of expertise, and have a deep knowledge of their discipline.


    Managing Consultants are also responsible for actively participating in the career development of Associates, Senior Associates, and Consultants on their engagement teams or office.  Managing Consultants continue to expand firm-building activities by assuming managerial roles in the office for such functions as recruiting, training, or staff coordination. They also begin to participate in developing project proposals.


    Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm. 


    • Responsible for project management on engagements of any size, and are often a key client contact for an engagement.
    • Capable of planning, budgeting, executing and delivering on a variety of projects.
    • Can actively manage staff and demonstrate consistent, balanced project delegation, supervision and leadership skills across all areas of an engagement.
    • Coordinates and actively participates in developing solutions and creating client deliverables, including the drafting of complex sections of deliverables.
    • Leads the career development efforts of the professionals who are members of their engagement teams or office.
    • Assumes managerial roles in the office for such functions as recruiting, training, or staff coordination.
    • Takes an active role in business development through management and expansion of projects and client relationships, development of project proposals and the creation of thought leadership papers, journal articles and presentations.
    • Travel is required Monday through Thursday (4 days, with 3 overnight stays)


    • 5+ years of work experience with a focus on data analytics.
    • Degree (e.g., BS, BBA, MBA, M.A., M.S., etc.) with a focus in business analytics (accounting, finance, economics, information systems) or equivalent experience.
    • Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain collaborative, value-added relationships with client executives.
    • Solid understanding of all aspects of the revenue cycle, including:
    • Patient Access (Insurance verification, scheduling, etc)
    • Billing and Collections operations
    • Cash Acceleration
    • Point of Service Collections
    • Effective management of bad debts and denial write-offs
    • Ability to effectively oversee areas requiring specialized subject matter experts (e.g., Charge Capture, Managed Care contracting, CDI, Strategic Pricing) and understand these areas’ inter-relationships with other areas of revenue cycle.
    • Effectively able to manage multiple engagements at a time.
    • Analytical skill strong enough to support junior staff.
    • Ability to create and achieve engagement budgets and timelines, as well as successfully execute project plans.
    • Demonstrate a high level understanding of other HPI practices, and the inter-relationships with Revenue Cycle.
    • Support HPI sales efforts.
