    Berkeley Research Group provides independent advice, data analysis, authoritative studies, expert testimony, investigations, and regulatory and dispute consulting to Fortune 500 corporations, financial institutions, government agencies, major law firms, and regulatory bodies around the world.  Within BRG, the healthcare practice offers transactional and strategy services through market research, federal and state policy diligence, and data analytics.

     

    The Consultant position is an mid-level consulting staff position within the healthcare practice as part of its market research staff.  This is an opportunity to work directly alongside our reporters and researchers as they cover news and themes in healthcare policy.

     

    Headquartered in Emeryville, California, BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally.  This position offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services and consulting firm. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Research and forge relationships with leaders in the managed care space, particularly Medicare Advantage, as well as other constituencies in healthcare
    • Through participation network, attending industry events or other ways of collecting and curating sources
    • Contract with/manage freelance writers to help conduct interviews
    • Engage your source base of managed care and other health care experts to generate conversations on industry trends and answer client questions
    • Leads components of cross functional projects, ensuing project timelines are met, identifying resource needs, and communicating analysis and outcomes to the client.
    • Be able to present findings or opinions and research verbally to clients
    • Independently run surveys or market research to various healthcare stakeholders, including but not limited to health plans, providers and pharma related contacts.
    • Research and write 1-2 articles per week offering insight into managed care practices and/or behavioral health for a variety of platforms (websites, newsletters)

    Qualifications

    • At least 5-10 years of prior work experience writing content/working as a journalist in digital or print publishing for managed care or healthcare OR market research professional with experience writing surveys around healthcare payers and providers
    • Experience / published work in managed care a plus
    • Already established network of managed care and/or pharma executives and leaders that you can rely on for helping establish market trends
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with other journalism techniques
    • A people-person who will enjoy tracking down and interviewing subject matter experts
    • Experience in and enjoyment of working in a fast-paced environment on projects with short turn around times
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent in the area of journalism, English, communications, market research or a related degree preferred
