    BRG is looking for a Case Assistant to support the Washington, DC office Energy Team. The person in this role will research for the team, supporting client deliverables and assisting with a variety of administrative tasks.

    In the energy space, BRG’s service offerings include business advisory and expert analysis. Business advisory services include strategic planning, commercial negotiation and price review, trading, investment evaluation, financings, mergers and acquisitions.  We also provide expert analysis and testimony in energy related disputes in the context of domestic litigation and international arbitration matters, regulatory and restructuring proceedings, antitrust disputes, mergers and acquisitions, and government inquiries.


    Document and Report Support:


    • Quality control review to include editing, sourcing footnotes and checking references.
    • Research case related information to help support primarily damage related cases analysis or within the case materials, go through docs to see if facts were repeated throughout.
    • General support to ensure client reports are accurate and of the highest quality                                                  
    • Organize case documents; create and maintain hard copy and electronic libraries for documents and retrieve documents from libraries as necessary.
    • Demonstrate creativity and learn to efficiently use relevant software tools, analytical methods and computer models to develop solutions.
    • Gain experience developing and maintaining electronic databases, spreadsheets and other files as dictated by project needs.
    • Perform detailed research and analysis, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review and summarize literature and data from the public domain, specialized industry resources, or client, public and commercial databases).
    • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure quality.


    • Arrange and coordinate conference calls, meeting rooms, as needed.
    • Prepare and process business travel arrangements.
    • Participate in a positive team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.


    Specific Duties Related to the Energy Practice:

    • Support BRG energy experts and managers with research and analysis in the liquefied natural gas (LNG), natural gas, E&P and power and reneawable sectors.     
    • Assist BRG modeling experts with the development of BRG models, analytic methodologies and tools. This includes collecting, analyzing and interpreting energy data and statistics.  Familiarity with energy resources such as Bloomberg, Energy Information Administration (EIA), SNL Energy, Ventyx, Waterborne, etc. is desired but not required.


    • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the areas of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, or other related subject. Advanced degree desirable.
    • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent auditing practices, including identifying and utilizing outside checks to question the reasonableness of results.
    • Must have a sophisticated and efficient method for researching issues in their primary areas of expertise, advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
